In the novel, In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware, Nora goes to a Bachelorette weekend in honor of Claire, whom she hasn’t talked to in ten years. If that isn’t strange enough, Nora finds herself in a glass house in the middle of the dense Northumberland forest, over three-hundred miles north of her London home. Throw in a couple of dark secrets, spotty cell phone connections, unfamiliar footprints outside in the snow, as well as an unhinged maid of honor, and it’s a recipe for a thriller.
Although Ware’s 308 paged book didn’t scare me as anticipated, it was quick and entertaining, perfect for that Summer beach read and totally dessert worthy!
